How does Blancco LUN Eraser handle compressed data?
How does Blancco LUN Eraser handle compressed data?
Blancco LUN Eraser includes an overwriting method (number 50) which is designed to handle compressed data by performing an aperiodic random overwrite this prevents high-end SAN systems which apply automatic compression of data from compressing the erasure pattern.
The use of an aperiodic random overwrite method will result in an increased erasure time due to the increased level of complexity when using this method compared to an erasure standard which writes a single character.
