Generating New Registration Codes

For each new installation a registration code is required during the installation process.

To generate a registration code, the tenant needs to have at least one valid license remaining. The license is consumed during the process and dedicated license is required for each unique installation. You can observe your current available license balance from the On-Premise BMPs view (key icon next to “Copy registration code” button).

Edit

Edit -action allows you to view the UUID, update the name and description of the selected installation.

Name field is synchronized to your on-premise installation at the time of next sync. Description field is only presented on the Blancco Management Portal.

Unregister

Note that unregistering an on-premise installation will immeaditely halt the system upon next successful sync and to restore the system the installation needs to be registered again.

Unregister -action will release the license reserved for the on-premise installation and entirely deactivate the installation. License freed up during this process can later be to associated with a different, new on-premise installation.

If unregistered installation needs to be reactivated, a new registration code needs to be generated for it and provided by administrator user. Only the administrator user will be able to see registration dialog to reactivate the installation. Other users will see an error message during authentication stating that the installation has not been registered asking to reach out to system administrator.

Reset

Reset -action generates a reset code and copies it clipboard.

This action is only required if there are unexpected issues during a data syncronization and subsequent data syncronization could not be carried out. When such a problem occurs, the on-premise application will prompt the user to provide a reset code to re-establish the connnection to Blancco Management Portal.
