Management Portal (On-premise)

N/A

Description

Since the introduction of Blancco Management Portal (On-premise) it is required to have periodic communication between the on-premise installation and the Blancco Management Portal.

During installation of a new instance or during an upgrade process from Blancco Management Console user is required to register the installation with the Blancco Management Portal.

Registeration is based on a registration code generated from the Blancco Management Portal tenant. See more details on how to manage your on-premise installation from here: Managing On-premise BMPs

Synchronization process

After the successfully registering the on-premise installation, periodic synchronization between the on-premise installation and the Blancco Management Portal is required.

This periodic sync will occur every hour. The sync can also be manually triggered from the Blancco Management Portal (On-premise) by using the “Sync now” option.

In case the hourly sync fails, there will be a 30 day period allowed for the on-premise installation to remain in an offline state. If there is no successful sync completed during the 30 day period, the system will be completely halted. When this happens, no users are allowed to login, all APIs and communication/license consumptions between the erasure clients and the on-premise installation will fail.

Last sync, next sync and sync deadline times can be observed from the Blancco Management Portal (On-premise) user interface.

Status of the on-premise installation can also be managed from the Blancco Management Portal tenant. Statuses and other available options are explained here: Managing On-premise BMPs .
