How are Apple devices erased?

The National Security Agency has approved AES-256 for storing top-secret data:

This link refers to a retired crypto standard -
”The NSA officially retired the "Suite B" cryptographic standard. It has been replaced by the Commercial National Security Algorithm Suite (CNSA), which is designed to be more robust and includes transitions toward quantum-resistant cryptography.”
